About the Role

Rand Water is seeking Committee Secretary (x4) to provide professional secretariat and administrative support to our Governance Structures. This permanent role, based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, is a great opportunity to contribute to a values-driven organization that upholds the highest standards of corporate governance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities for Committee Secretary

  • Prepare meeting notices, agendas, and packs within defined deadlines.
  • Attend governance meetings, accurately record minutes, and manage follow-up actions.
  • Distribute and track reports, resolutions, and documentation for PIC packs.
  • Book venues, catering, and assist with travel arrangements.
  • Ensure proper safekeeping of signed minutes and statutory documents.
  • Maintain updated information on the PIC portal and manage statutory registers.
  • Perform general office admin duties and support ad hoc secretariat functions

Minimum Requirements

  • A CIS qualification or equivalent in Company Secretariat.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in a Company Secretariat environment.
  • 5+ years of high-level minute-taking experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours if needed.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Solid understanding of corporate governance principles.
  • Familiarity with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Companies Act, and Water Services Act.
  • Strong planning, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to liaise with senior leadership.
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and customer service orientation.
  • Professional telephone etiquette and excellent command of English.
