Job Purpose
The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) is seeking a professional and reliable Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at our Head Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily cleaning, hygiene services, restocking supplies, and preparing venues for meetings and events.
Key Outcomes & Deliverables
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of all office and meeting spaces
- Conduct venue setup and support hospitality functions
- Restock consumables in bathrooms and pause areas
- Submit inspection, maintenance, and stock control reports
- Communicate effectively with line managers and support staff
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Hospitality Services
- Clean and maintain office facilities: floors, windows, restrooms, ceiling vents, and furniture
- Perform workstation sanitization and deep-clean appliances (microwave, fridge, etc.)
- Prepare and refresh venues for meetings, workshops, and functions
- Adhere to safety regulations while reporting faults to Facilities
Stock Management
- Refill consumables (tea, coffee, paper towels, hygiene supplies)
- Maintain supply rooms and update stock levels weekly
- Submit monthly stock issue sheets to Soft Service Officer
Reporting & Communication
- Conduct weekly and monthly inspections
- Submit daily/weekly maintenance checklists
- Immediately report incidents, hazards, or malfunctions
- Communicate effectively with the Officer: Facilities
Minimum Requirements for a Housekeeper
Education:
- Grade 10 (Essential)
- Preferred: Grade 12 (NSC) or National Certificate (Level 4)
- RPL: Recognised Prior Learning considered
Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years cleaning experience
- Proven understanding of basic hygiene and hospitality standards
