Purpose of the Learner Data Capturer role
This learnership opportunity is ideal for youth who are passionate about public health and eager to gain data management skills. As a Learner Data Capturer, you will support the Data Quality Officer and M&E Coordinator by capturing and consolidating program data at facility level to ensure accurate reporting for the PPPrev programme.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (NQF Level 4)
- Aged between 18–24 years old
- Basic knowledge or interest in HIV, TB, and public health
- Must live near or within proximity to Mthatha health facilities
- MS Office proficiency (especially Excel)
- Ability to communicate in English (isiXhosa is advantageous)
- Must be self-motivated and willing to complete accredited training and portfolio work
- Clear criminal record
Key Responsibilities for Learner Data Capturer
- Capture and consolidate weekly, monthly, and quarterly data from facilities
- Maintain accurate, structured, and formatted databases
- Keep a submission register and monitor/report missing data
- Escalate non-submissions to M&E Coordinator as needed
- Liaise with facility staff, Department of Health teams, and THC colleagues to gather and confirm data
- Perform general administrative and filing tasks as required
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data handling protocols
