The Steinmüller Africa, in partnership with Bilfinger Intervalve Africa, is offering Boilermaking and Welding Apprenticeships in Bethal.

This 36-month programme is designed to help unemployed youth gain technical skills, workplace experience, and a recognized artisan qualification (NQF Level 4).

Purpose of the Apprenticeship

This programme provides structured theoretical and practical training to help learners become qualified artisans.

You will:

  • Complete merSETA-accredited modules
  • Gain hands-on workplace experience
  • Prepare for and pass a trade test
  • Qualify as a certified artisan (NQF Level 4)

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete all required training modules (theory & practical)
  • Perform tasks assigned by mentors or training officers
  • Support production and site operations
  • Participate actively in workplace learning

Minimum Requirements

To apply, you must have:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and Physical Science OR
  • N2 qualification with relevant subjects

Advantageous:

  • N2 subjects such as:
    • Mathematics
    • Engineering Science
    • Platers Theory
    • Platers Drawings

Additional Requirements

  • Must be 35 years or younger
  • Must be physically and medically fit
  • Clear criminal record
  • Must live within 50 km of Kriel Power Station
  • Must be willing to relocate to Bethal if needed
  • No accommodation or transport provided
