Purpose of the Role (Delivery Driver Code 14)

To ensure the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of goods, maintain roadworthy vehicles, uphold safety and compliance standards, and provide excellent customer service while representing the Econo Foods brand professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely drive assigned trucks and conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
• Verify goods and ensure accurate, on-time deliveries to customers.
• Keep detailed, accurate records of mileage, fuel, delivery receipts, and incidents.
• Maintain professional communication with customers, warehouse teams, and stakeholders.
• Report mechanical or maintenance issues promptly and follow company procedures.
• Ensure trucks remain clean, organized, and stocked with required delivery documents.
• Adhere to traffic laws, company safety standards, and code of conduct policies.
• Use appropriate PPE and follow health & safety protocols at all times.
• Participate in team meetings, coaching sessions, and ongoing training.
• Support operational goals by collaborating effectively with the logistics team.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification.
• Valid Code 14 (EC) or Code 10 license with a valid PDP.
• 3–5 years’ proven driving experience (FMCG Retail industry experience preferred).
• Clean driving record and strong knowledge of road safety regulations.
• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office advantageous).
• Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
