About Sasol Secunda Operations
Sasol operates the world’s largest coal-to-liquids (CTL) facility at Secunda Operations. The facility produces synthesis gas through coal gasification and natural gas reforming using Sasol’s proprietary Fischer-Tropsch technology.
The operation manufactures:

Purpose of the Job
The purpose of the role is to support continuous plant availability through effective maintenance and support of HVAC equipment and related systems.
Successful candidates will assist with equipment cleaning, maintenance support, housekeeping, and operational activities within the plant environment.
Key Responsibilities
The General Worker will be responsible for:
HVAC Maintenance Support
- Assisting with maintenance of HVAC equipment
- Washing filters and HVAC units
- Cleaning cooling towers
- Sanding and painting HVAC equipment
Housekeeping Duties
- Cleaning storerooms and plant rooms
- Maintaining cleanliness in HVAC yards
- Ensuring good housekeeping standards
Equipment Handling
- Carrying tools and equipment
- Operating a mobile WAP high-pressure machine on a trailer
- Supporting maintenance teams with operational tasks
Safety Compliance
- Following safety procedures and standards
- Maintaining a safe working environment
Minimum Requirements
Educational Requirements
Applicants must have:
- National Senior Certificate (Matric)
OR - N3 qualification with English
Additional Requirements
Candidates must:
- Be able to communicate effectively in English
- Have a valid driver’s licence
Advantageous Licence
The following licences will be beneficial:
- Code EB
- Code EC1
Experience Requirements
Applicants should have:
- At least 1 year of relevant mechanical experience
- Experience working with:
