Key Responsibilities

As a Care Worker, you will help maintain the health, safety, and dignity of our dialysis patients through these core duties:

• Clean dialysis machines before every session following NRC protocols
• Inspect and maintain the unit generator regularly (daily/weekly/monthly)
• Assist with ordering and serving patient meals in line with dietary requirements
• Ensure hygiene and infection control standards are followed consistently
• Adhere to waste and stock management policies
• Perform daily safety checks, including machine alarm testing
• Support a safe and professional dialysis environment
• Demonstrate NRC’s values and “Caring the NRC Way” daily
• Maintain a high standard of recordkeeping and reporting

Minimum Requirements for Care Worker

• Grade 12 (Matric) – basic numeracy and literacy
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar caregiving or healthcare role (renal experience is a plus)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure medical setting
• Highly organised and energetic
• Commitment to ethical behavior and patient confidentiality
• Strong customer focus and team player mentality
• Must be flexible, reliable, and eager to learn
