About the Dis-Chem Cleaner Role

Minimum Requirements for Dis-Chem Cleaner

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification
• At least 6 months of cleaning experience
• Good command of English (written and verbal)
• Basic customer service skills
• Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays

Advantageous:

• Bilingual (English and a local language)
• Previous cleaning experience in a retail store environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for:

• Maintaining high hygiene standards across the shop floor, stock room, dispensary, admin offices, and staff canteen
• Cleaning communal areas, including restrooms, and ensuring they are always stocked with required supplies
• Following daily cleaning routines before store opening and throughout the day as needed
• Using correct cleaning products and equipment for specific tasks
• Ensuring wet floor signs are correctly placed during cleaning for safety
• Assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner when required
• Adhering to Health and Safety Regulations at all times
• Reporting any maintenance or safety hazards immediately
