Tiger Brands, one of South Africa’s leading FMCG companies, is seeking a Driver and Salesman (Code 14) to join the team in Randfontein. This role combines safe and efficient bread deliveries with customer-focused sales support, ensuring smooth operations across bakery routes.

Role Overview (Driver and Salesman)

You will be responsible for inter-bakery deliveries of bread, ensuring timely, accurate, and safe transportation while maintaining strong customer service and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate the delivery vehicle in compliance with traffic laws
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects using the official checklist
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Oversee and guide Van Assistants, escalating performance issues if needed
  • Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, uniform, and delivery departure times
  • Notify supervisors of any delays or route challenges
  • Identify sales opportunities on route and share with Sales Representatives
  • Monitor stock levels, perform checks before departure, and secure cash according to SOP
  • Collect Proof of Delivery (POD) and ensure accurate stock and basket flow records
  • Report deviations, suspicious activity, or issues promptly
