Thales, a global leader in aerospace, transportation, defence, security, and space, is offering an exciting Facility Maintenance Technician Learner Internship 2025 in Johannesburg. This 12-month internship provides valuable hands-on training in facility management, electrical installations, and general maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Facility Maintenance Technician Learner, you will:

• Perform minor electrical and plumbing installations and repairs.
• Carry out preventative maintenance activities.
• Assist with office moves (furniture and power).
• Log and close calls on the call-logging portal.
• Test generators weekly and distribution boards monthly (with checklists).
• Manage office and general waste disposal.
• Conduct monthly facilities and housekeeping checks.
• Oversee basement cleaning, degreasing, spraying, and recording water usage.
• Escort suppliers/contractors in high-security areas.
• Complete ad-hoc assignments as required.
• Comply with 5S workplace standards.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be South African citizens by birth, aged 18–30.
• Have a Matric / Grade 12 / N3.
• Hold a valid Driver’s Licence (Code 8, no endorsements).
• Possess a qualification in electrical installations (Electrician).
• Have at least 2 years’ facility management experience.
• Have at least 2 years’ experience in general electrical installations.
