About the Santam Learnership Programme

The Santam Learnership Programme is an entry-level transformation initiative created to help address skills shortages within the financial services sector. The programme equips learners with practical industry experience and accredited training that can support long-term career growth.

Successful learners will complete:

  • Accredited NQF Level 4 training
  • Workplace learning and practical exposure
  • Industry-relevant development programmes
  • Preparation for the FSCA Regulatory Exam (RE5)

Learners who complete the programme may qualify to apply for professional membership with the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) in the designation category of IISA Member (MIISA).

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Santam Learnership Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Educational Requirements

Applicants must have a Grade 12 certificate with:

  • Minimum 50% for English
  • Minimum 50% for a Second Language
  • Minimum 40% for Mathematics
    OR
  • Minimum 60% for Mathematics Literacy

Additional Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens
  • Be unemployed
  • Be between 18 and 28 years old
  • Not be studying at another institution while participating in the learnership
  • Not have participated in a Short-Term Insurance Learnership through INSETA
  • Have less than 1 year of work experience

    • Higher Certificates
    • Diplomas

  • Applicants with more than 1 year of work experience
