The Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism is recruiting 19 Field Rangers to support wildlife conservation, biodiversity protection, and reserve management across various protected areas in Limpopo Province.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4), ABET, or AET Level 3 qualification recognised by SAQA
- Valid SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate (Handgun, Rifle, or Shotgun)
- Valid driver’s licence (except for persons with disabilities)
- Physical fitness suitable for field operations
- No criminal record
- Conservation training certificate or qualification from an accredited institution

- Experience in conservation management programmes

Key Responsibilities
Conservation Protection
- Protect nature reserves and natural resources
- Conduct conservation patrols and law enforcement operations
- Monitor visitor activities and behaviour
- Report illegal activities and non-compliance
Infrastructure and Access Control
- Inspect and repair boundary fences
- Assist with infrastructure maintenance
- Support access control functions
Fire and Risk Management
- Assist with fire prevention and fire management services
- Participate in emergency conservation operations
Ecological Monitoring
- Gather biological and ecological data
- Monitor habitats and biodiversity
- Support ecological rehabilitation initiatives
- Assist with alien plant removal programmes
- Participate in soil erosion control projects
- Assist with bush encroachment management
Wildlife Management
- Support game monitoring programmes
- Assist with wildlife management activities
- Participate in water provision initiatives
- Support conservation activities in neighbouring communities
