Minimum Requirements

Applicants applying for the Foreman Cleaning Services job must meet the following criteria:

• Senior Certificate / Grade 12 / Matric or ABET Level 4
• Relevant experience in a cleaning services environment (advantageous)
• Willingness to travel when required
• Ability to adapt to work schedules according to office requirements
• Exposure to hazardous working conditions
• Knowledge of:
  • Cleaning materials and their purposes
  • Cleaning procedures
  • Operating cleaning equipment
  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
  • Labour Relations Act

Skills and Competencies

• Effective communication skills
• Basic numeracy
• Computer literacy
• Observation and inspection abilities
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work with consultants, professionals, and staff at various levels

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for supervising and coordinating cleaning services, including:

• Supervising and coordinating cleaning services rendered
• Inspecting logistics and physical environments to ensure hygiene and cleanliness
• Supervising cleaning staff and compiling cleaning reports
• Managing and controlling cleaning equipment and materials
• Identifying resource requirements and special operational needs
• Monitoring the condition and availability of cleaning equipment
• Ensuring maintenance and servicing of cleaning equipment
• Ensuring replenishment and distribution of cleaning materials and equipment
• Maintaining material registers
• Supporting sectional administration and human resource processes
• Identifying staff requirements
• Assessing performance of supervisors and cleaners
• Receiving and submitting leave applications for cleaning staff
