Position Details

• Job Title: Household Aid (X2 Posts)
• Salary: R138 486 per annum

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience: Relevant experience in cleaning, linen handling, stock, and food-related services in a hospital/health environment.
• Inherent Requirements:
  • Physically able to lift/move heavy equipment and supplies.
  • Must be willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Skills & Competencies

• Good communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation.
• Experience using cleaning equipment, materials, and detergents.

Key Duties

• Perform cleaning tasks: dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing floors.
• Clean furniture, equipment, and ensure bins are emptied.
• Use cleaning agents and equipment effectively to maintain hygiene and prevent infection.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is cleaned and safely stored after use.
• Handle stock, linen, consumables, and equipment responsibly.
• Serve meals to patients and prepare basic snacks when required.
• Maintain a safe, hygienic environment in line with hospital standards.
• Provide support to supervisors and colleagues.
