Position Details

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience: Appropriate experience in a large laundry environment.
• Inherent Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB).
  • Ability to handle heavy objects.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Word and Excel).

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to work under pressure and manage physically demanding tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills to maintain good relations with staff and service providers.
• Good numerical skills.
• Knowledge of Western Cape Linen Management Policy and ability to interpret it.

Key Duties

• Maintain a high standard of hospital hygiene, safety, and cleanliness.
• Collect, count, issue, and store linen daily.
• Operate laundry machines and equipment cost-effectively.
• Ensure correct use and disposal of consumables, resources, and waste products.
• Assist with routine linen stock control.
• Follow Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) prescripts and environmental hygiene standards.
• Take part in self-development and attend relevant training.
