Laboratory Practice Learnership Overview

Tshipi Borwa Mine invites young, motivated individuals from the John Taolo Gaetsewe District to apply for four (4) Laboratory Practice Learnerships (18.2 programme). This 12-month fixed-term contract offers structured learning, workplace exposure, and the opportunity to build a strong foundation in the mining and laboratory environment.

Programme Highlights

As a Laboratory Practice Learner, you will:

  • Attend mine safety inductions and follow all health and safety rules.
  • Support laboratory staff with daily operational tasks.
  • Assist with collecting, preparing, and analysing samples.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests under supervision.
  • Keep the laboratory clean, safe, and well-organised.
  • Follow strict laboratory and safety procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, punctuality, and a willingness to learn from experienced professionals.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Science.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Proof of residence, including high school attended, in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District.
  • The ability to obtain a valid medical fitness certificate.
  • Willingness to complete a Dover Assessment as part of the selection process.
