South Deep Gold Mine, part of the prestigious Gold Fields Group, is recruiting passionate and motivated individuals for the Learner Learner Miner Winding Engine Driver Learnership. This structured training programme offers the opportunity to gain the technical skills, industry knowledge, and practical experience required to qualify as a certified Winding Engine Driver in the mining sector.

Minimum Requirements for Learner Miner

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
• Valid Onsetter’s Certificate
• Minimum 5 years’ shaft experience with Banksman and/or Onsetter duties
• Medically fit as per Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre standards, including:
  • Risk-based medical examination
  • Heat Tolerance Screening Test
  • Any other assessments required for the role

• Abide by all mine health and safety regulations and procedures
• Undergo technical training in line with MQA and DMRE requirements
• Maintain consistent performance in all scheduled technical evaluations
• Take ownership of your career development and engage in feedback sessions

• Uphold South Deep Gold Mine values – safety, integrity, respect, responsibility, innovation, and collaborative delivery
• Communicate effectively in written and spoken English
