About the Apprenticeship

RCL Foods, through its Siqalo Foods Spreads Division, is offering 5 Millwright Apprenticeship opportunities on a 3-year fixed-term contract. This structured programme combines workplace learning, hands-on technical training, and theoretical knowledge to help you become a qualified Millwright.

As an apprentice, you will train under experienced mentors and gain practical skills in mechanical maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and installations—all while contributing to efficient plant operations.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for Millwright Apprenticeship, you must:

• Hold Grade 12 with Maths & Science.
• Have N3–N6 with trade-related subjects.
• Be 18–35 years old.
• Meet Employment Equity (EE) requirements (females encouraged to apply).

Key Duties & Responsibilities

During the apprenticeship, you will:

• Perform non-specialized maintenance under supervision.
• Learn to diagnose faults and carry out plant repairs.
• Assist with preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and WCM activities.
• Apply Kaizen problem-solving methods (5 Why, Fishbone).
• Contribute to breakdown reduction and reliability-centred maintenance (RCM).
• Follow company SHE policies, 5S standards, and safety regulations.
• Develop technical and engineering skills through OPLs and SOPs.
