Picker and Packer Job Purpose

To accurately pick goods from customer order lists and pack them efficiently onto shelves or for delivery, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Picking

• Accurately pick stock as per picking slips
• Verify correct items, quantities, and colours
• Complete all picking documentation correctly
• Report anomalies or product discrepancies

Packing

• Neatly pack goods into correct bin locations
• Wrap and label items according to procedures
• Prepare goods for shipment or delivery
• Load items onto vehicles

Warehouse Operations

• Maintain clean and orderly warehouse shelves
• Receive, count, and store new stock
• Assist with loading/offloading vehicles
• Support drivers on deliveries when needed
• Perform routine cleaning tasks

SHEQ & Safety Compliance

• Adhere to OHS Act and company safety policies
• Wear PPE at all times
• Report unsafe conditions or incidents
• Participate in Integrated Management System audits

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent

Experience & Skills

• Prior experience in warehousing or packing (advantageous)
• Basic numerical skills
• Physically fit with the ability to carry heavy items
• Attention to detail and time management skills

Preferred Extras

• Experience in aluminium or similar industry
• Valid Code 8 driver’s license
• Valid forklift license
