About the Plastics Technician Apprentice Programme

ALPLA South Africa is offering six Plastics Technician Apprenticeship opportunities as part of a 4-year structured training programme. This is an exciting chance for motivated, dynamic, and passionate individuals to gain hands-on experience and world-class training within a global plastics manufacturing environment.

The programme combines both theoretical learning and practical workplace experience, preparing apprentices for a successful technical career in the plastics and packaging industry.

What You Will Do

As a Plastics Technician Apprentice, you will:

  • Participate in a structured apprenticeship programme at our Lanseria facility.
  • Receive hands-on training in plastics manufacturing, maintenance, and technical operations.
  • Work alongside experienced technicians and engineers to build practical skills.
  • Gain exposure to global best practices in manufacturing and production.
  • Complete all required learning modules, logbook entries, and assessments to qualify as a Plastics Technician.

What Makes You Great (Minimum Requirements)

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics (≥ 50%) and Physical Science (≥ 50%) (Maths Literacy not accepted).
  • Engineering studies with relevant trade theory in N2–N3 Mechanical / Electrical.
  • OR NCV Level 2–4 related engineering studies from a TVET college.
  • N3 or higher in Engineering Studies (advantageous).
  • A CV with statement of results or qualifications is required for consideration.
