About the Role

The Department of Employment and Labour (DEL) is recruiting a dedicated Security Officer (Ref No: HR4/4/7/45) to join the Provincial Office in Mpumalanga. This permanent position offers a salary of R193 359 per annum and the opportunity to safeguard departmental assets, employees, and visitors while ensuring compliance with security standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Security Officer, your duties will include:

• Controlling access in and out of the Labour Centre and Provincial Office.
• Securing the flow of information and departmental assets.
• Conducting regular security patrols of buildings and offices to ensure safety.
• Enforcing security rules and regulations to maintain order.
• Conducting internal investigations when necessary.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 / Senior Certificate.
• Grade C Security Certificate (PSIRA accredited).
• 12 months of security experience.

Knowledge of:

• Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act.
• Evacuation procedures and Minimum Information Security Standards.
• PSIRA procedures and Batho Pele Principles.
• Public Service Regulations Act and departmental policies.

Skills:

• Verbal and written communication.
• Interpersonal relations and problem-solving.
• Listening and analytical thinking.
• Computer literacy.
• Planning and organizing.
