About Work Integrated Learning Opportunity

The Harry Gwala District Municipality is inviting applications from unemployed youth for its Work Integrated Learning (WIL) / In-Service Training Programme. This initiative is designed to equip participants with practical work experience while contributing to local government service delivery.

Successful applicants will join various municipal departments and receive mentorship, skills training, and exposure to real-world municipal operations.

1. Corporate Services – Fleet Management Unit

• Qualification Required: N6 in Public Management or Office Management

2. Infrastructure Services – Project Management Unit

• Ref No: INFR/WIL/5/5/4/2/1
• Qualification Required: N6 in Public Management, Public Administration, or Office Management

3. Budget & Treasury Office – Supply Chain Management Unit

• Ref No: BTO/WIL/5/5/4/2/1
• Qualification Required: N6 in Financial Management

4. Budget & Treasury Office – Revenue Management Unit

• Ref No: BTO/WIL/5/5/4/2/1
• Qualification Required: N6 in Public Management

5. Water Services – Water & Wastewater

• Qualification Required: N4 in Water Care or Water Treatment

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be unemployed and a South African citizen
• Aged between 18 and 35 years
• Residing within the Harry Gwala District Municipality (Proof of residence required)
• Must have completed the relevant N4/N6 qualification in line with the position applied for
• Letter from institution confirming WIL / In-Service Training requirement
