The Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) invites applications for its two-year Internship Programme aimed at unemployed graduates under the age of 35.
SHRA is a Schedule 3A public entity under the Department of Human Settlements, established in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA). Its mandate is to regulate and promote rental social housing for low to medium-income earners in South Africa.
This internship provides valuable workplace experience for young graduates from universities and universities of technology.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the SHRA Business Analyst Internship, applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in one of the following fields:
- Accounting Sciences
- Accounting
- Internal Auditing
- Financial Management
- Management Accounting
Competencies Required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to verify and analyse data accurately
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of data analytics software (advantageous)
Key Learning Areas
The Business Analyst Intern will gain practical experience in:
- Verifying information submitted by reporting entities
- Reviewing supporting documents for compliance
- Preparing individual assessment and compliance reports
- Supporting the issuance of compliance notices and declarations
- Monitoring and reporting on compliance conditions
- Assisting in the development of remedial action plans
- Participating in internal investigations and diagnostic assessments
- Updating and maintaining compliance databases
This internship is ideal for graduates interested in compliance, auditing, financial management, and regulatory environments.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be under the age of 35
- Must be unemployed
- Must be available for the full 24-month duration
