Job Purpose (General Worker 5 Posts)

The City of Tshwane is looking for dedicated and reliable General Workers to join its Logistics Planning & Inventory Section under the Group Financial Services Division. This role involves ensuring offices and municipal facilities remain clean, safe, and well-maintained for all staff and visitors.

Requirements

To qualify for General Worker 5 Posts position, applicants must have:

• Ability to perform cleaning and related duties.
• Basic literacy skills.
• Relevant experience in cleaning tasks (advantageous).
• Physical fitness and ability to stand or walk for long periods.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal record check and fingerprinting (at own cost) by the Tshwane Metro Police Department.

Key Duties

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Sweeping, vacuuming, washing, and polishing floors, furniture, and fixtures.
• Cleaning kitchens and assisting with general kitchen duties, including dishwashing.
• Collecting rubbish, emptying garbage bins, and transporting waste to disposal areas.
• Cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorising kitchens, bathrooms, and toilets.
• Dusting furniture and beating dust from carpets.
• Carrying, loading, and unloading furniture and goods for offices or vehicles.
