Purpose of the Job (Learner Fire Fighter)

To participate in and successfully complete the Fire Fighting Learnership Programme, which combines on-the-job learning with structured, accredited training to prepare learners for roles in the fire and emergency response field.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of the learnership programme and meet assessment requirements.
• Engage in work readiness activities, fire drills, and practical training exercises.
• Learn and adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies.
• Develop technical and practical competencies related to fire fighting operations.

Minimum Requirements

• National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent, with a pass in:
  • Technical Mathematics / Mathematics
  • English / Business English
  • Technical / Physical Science
• Code B (or higher) Driver’s Licence.
• Ability to pass:
  • Stress and fear assessments (heights, confined spaces, and fire exposure).
  • Fire Fighter fitness assessments.
