What You’ll Learn as a Millwright Apprenticeship

• Assist in installing, assembling, and dismantling industrial machinery and equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and more
• Learn to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and manuals
• Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments under guidance
• Align machines and equipment with hoists, jacks, and measuring tools
• Clean, lubricate, and service parts and equipment
• Follow all safety protocols while maintaining a clean, organized workspace
• Attend and participate in classroom training as part of the apprenticeship program

Requirements

• Grade 12 / NQF4 qualification
• Previous exposure to construction, maintenance, or mechanical trades (advantageous)
• Enrolled in or completed a pre-apprenticeship program (preferred)
• Strong interest in maintenance and machinery
• Ability to work in outdoor and physically demanding environments
• Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and a positive work ethic
• Good communication, teamwork, and ability to follow instructions
