Role Summary

The Pharmacist Assistant Learner will:

• Assist with the provision of medication and supplementary services
• Work under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist
• Ensure patient needs are met responsibly and cost-effectively
• Support pharmacy operations and stock control processes

This role offers hands-on exposure within a professional healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence – Stock Control

• Participate in cyclical and full stock-take processes
• Assist with procurement and ethical stock control
• Process stock for internal departments and inter-clinic sales
• Manage stock in line with Netcare Stock Management policy

Medication Dispensing

• Assist the pharmacist with dispensing
• Pick and package medicine under supervision
• Capture dispensed items to patient accounts
• Capture patient profiles and prescriptions on the Unisolve system
• Assist with monthly chronic medicine recalls

Administration & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with regulations set by the South African Pharmacy Council
• Follow up on outstanding medication
• Conduct housekeeping and administrative duties
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist

Teamwork & Development

• Participate actively in team objectives
• Maintain professional development
• Stay updated with Netcare policies and procedures
• Build collaborative stakeholder relationships

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Pharmacist Assistant Learner Basic position, applicants must:

• Hold a National Senior Certificate with:
  • Core Mathematics
  • Physical Science
  • Life Science
• Be under 35 years of age
• Be currently unemployed
