About SANEDI & DSTI Energy Secretariat

The South African National Energy Development Institute (SANEDI) is a state-owned entity established under the National Energy Act (Act 34 of 2008). This role is within the DSTI Energy Secretariat, which supports and monitors flagship energy innovation programmes aligned with the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Decadal Plan. These include:

• Energy Storage RDI
• Hydrogen South Africa (HySA)
• Renewable Energy Hub & Spokes
• Coal CO2-X RDI

Job Purpose

The Cleaners will ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in office spaces, kitchens, restrooms, and other designated areas. They will also assist with general services and internal hospitality as required.

Minimum Requirements for Sanedi Cleaners

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• 2+ years’ cleaning experience in a corporate environment
• Certificate in hygiene (advantageous)

• Ability to work under pressure

• Housekeeping knowledge
• Flexibility, motivation, and a strong work ethic

Duties & Responsibilities for Sanedi Cleaners

• Maintain cleanliness in line with SANEDI and OHS standards
• Clean floors, desks, windows, toilets, and kitchen areas
• Replenish consumables (coffee, toilet paper, soap, etc.)
• Empty and clean waste bins
• Track and request cleaning materials via Facilities Manager
• Clean exterior of building as needed
• Assist with refreshments during internal and external meetings
• Lock/unlock offices securely
• Perform other tasks as assigned
