Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) invites unemployed South African graduates (ages 18–35) to apply for its two-year Young Professional-in-Training Programme 2026. This structured graduate development programme offers on-the-job experience, mentorship, and institutional training to help young professionals develop the skills and experience needed for long-term career success.

Programme Overview (Transnet Young Professional)

The Transnet Young Professional-in-Training Programme is a 24-month structured initiative combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on workplace experience.
Participants’ progress is reviewed every six months to ensure continuous growth and alignment with Transnet’s capacity development goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• South African citizen aged between 18 and 35
• Unemployed graduates with no prior work experience
• Hold a National Diploma / BTech / Degree (NQF Level 6 or 7) in one of the following fields:
  • Internal Auditing
  • Accounting / BCom Accounting
  • Finance
  • Auditing / Taxation
  • Information Management
  • Computer Science
  • Statistics / Mathematics
• Graduated from a DHET-registered institution (University, University of Technology, or TVET College)

Placement Locations

Successful candidates will be placed across multiple Transnet Freight Rail sites, including:

• Johannesburg
• Bellville
• Bloemfontein
• Ermelo
• Ogies
