Community Services General worker Job Purpose
To conduct general maintenance work in developed and undeveloped open spaces as well as natural resources and community facilities, improving the overall quality of the environment for residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
As a General Worker in Community Services, you will be expected to:
- Perform general maintenance in public open spaces and recreational facilities
- Assist in cleaning and upkeep of natural resources, parks, and open land
- Support pool maintenance activities where required
- Operate hand tools and basic maintenance equipment safely
- Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality community service
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to perform manual duties and follow instructions
- Basic literacy skills
- Knowledge or experience in pool maintenance will be an advantage
- Good physical health and fitness with no back problems
- Willingness to undergo a criminal record check (fingerprints to be taken by Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost)
- Flexibility to work shifts, standby, and overtime when required
